[Machinery isn't very durable and he's so close to breaking his own arm again. Nero detaches it from his limbs before it becomes a pain and gives it to Terry.]

Are you good with technology and weapons? I need a hand.

[Quite literally speaking. ]

it'll have to be 1/11 because they're trapped in there starting from 1/12 /o/

[ When Terry got the door to the house, he wasn't expecting... this. Definitely not Nero coming in and detaching his own arm before he realizes that it's more like a robotic limb. ]

I broke a finger or two. The rest of the arm will break the second I go into battle.

[He looks down and sighs.]

This just happens a lot. I'll explain if you don't mind listening to a longass story.

[ If this sort of thing happens a lot, then it just means that Nero probably has a personal mechanic that fixes it often and said mechanic isn't here. That makes sense. ]

Well, uh... I can try to fix it and I might zone out while I do it. If you don't mind telling that really long story to keep yourself occupied, that's fine with me. Come in.

[ Terry steps aside to let Nero into the house and gestures over to where the kotatsu is. Make yourself at home, dude. He's gonna go grab a tool box and some raw materials. ]

[A kotatsu is so nice. He feels drained as soon as he sits down. It's easier for him to talk when he's not thinking pessimistically 24/7. Being tired is better than being frustrated.]

So ....I'm in deep shit all the time. About 6 years ago I thought I got some kind of arm infection.

I couldn't move around too much. It was crazy. What you're working on is some piece of custom machinery.

[ Terry comes back with his things and sets them on the ground as he sits across from Nero in the kotatsu with his back straight. He sets the arm on the table and looks over it. ]

So, can you tell me about the custom parts? Like... what functions does it have and stuff.

It's called a devil breaker because...it breaks a lot.

The basic functions vary. You use your hands for a bunch of things, right? I need to be able to eat and take care of myself.

Yeah, I get that, but like... I mean... you said it's custom-made, so I'm assuming it does more than do the usual things hands can do.

[ Why would someone name something after its fragile trait of breaking often... what the fuck... He looks at Nero with some pity. ]

Because if it doesn't, I can just get a sturdier prosthetic for you instead.

The most important thing is that it lets me fight. I'm not some kind of push over.

My previous mechanic just improvised. Sometimes she came up with some fucking bullshit. I had a function that could slow down time.

[ A mechanical arm that could slow time... what the fuck, that's OP. But if it's as fragile as Nero says, Terry can only wonder. He sighs and starts working on the arm regardless. ]

But if your arm is fragile or whatever, you can't depend on it to use in a fight. Imagine punching something and your hand breaks instead. That would make you look super weak.

[ Seriously. Terry arches an eyebrow to show Nero what he thinks of that. ]

I can't add stuff like time manipulation, but I can fix it to at least be a little sturdier. That's fine, right? Since you have those other weapons.

Yeah I guess, it's fine. I don't want to become a burden because of all this.

Do you want me to pay you up front? [Because he's still taking up Terry's time and energy..]
