[ Terry finally snaps out of it and sits up on the bed. The black cats seem to really like Kido, because they're crowding around her now, meowing and pawing in her direction for affection. They're all kittens too. He looks at this and... well... whatever makes Kido happy. ]

[ Good, because it doesn't need to be said, but they're keeping all of the cats. She could sit here all day and lets the kittens jump around and pounce on her hands, but Terry sitting up bring Kido back to the present, and she gets up onto her feet too. ]

Have these cats gotten their shots? We can bring them with us to the hospital and—

[ She stops, like she's seeing the bed for the first time and it's a mental block she can't get over. ]

A bed... and five more cats.

[ Of course. It's too good to be true, and she must still be asleep. This is suddenly very disappointing. ]

... You can't carry a bed and five more cats to the hospital, Kido.

[ ??? Anyway, he seems to be over that this is Jace's bed that he's sitting on, but he still misses him... but for now, it'll be fine. The bed is floating, but it keeps its distance from the floor. It doesn't steadily move up and down like one would expect. ]

Anyway, this is Jace's bed. It popped up into my room this morning. I don't know how that happened. The kittens were on the bed too, but I'm pretty sure they're not Jace's cats...

Why— How would his bed turn up here, though?

[ She glances up at the ceiling, but it's still intact, along with the window and the front door was fine when she was out there this morning too. Besides, she thought these things turning up had to be delivered by the...

...Kido crosses the bedroom to look out the window, and sure enough, the crows are out there staring back at her, but none of them are carrying any furniture. Or cats. ]

Do you think we should get some sort of home security system? At least some sort of video camera.

Rimi can do that. The footage will go straight to your phone though.

[ He doesn't really have anything in particular to hide in his room either, so he doesn't care. ]

I don't know how it got here, but it's definitely Jace's bed.

[ He is not gonna say it's because it smells like him because it sounds... yeah... he's becoming aware. ]

Maybe you can get Rimi to patrol the outside of the house at night. I'll take a look at the footage if something weird turns up in the morning, otherwise it can be overwritten.

[ She sits down on the edge of Jace's bed. Does it not bounce like a normal mattress or does it still do that? ]

You mean it's the same sort of bed he had? Unless it's some fancy custom made bed...

[ It's a firm mattress, but a bit foamy, so there's not much bounce. It does feel very cushiony and nice though. Though it's advised that no one has a jumping party, since it would break the internal stuff like regulating temperature and adjusting the base. ]

Yeah, I can set it up to do that too. And it's definitely his bed. I don't know anyone else that has a floating, magnetic bed.

[ The little black kittens, who are thankfully not ghost cats for now, all excitedly try to climb onto Kido. They really, really like her... ]

[ DON'T SAY "FOR NOW" omg Kido gathers them all up into her lap, none of them are allowed to die and become ghost cats, thank god Ichi got to that bonus request before I did or we would've had ghost cats ]

And that's because Jace is really fucking extra beneath his usual deadpan demeanor. Terry shakes his head to Kido's question though. ]

It's safe for electronics, so don't worry. It's probably a little more complicated than a simple "floating magnetic bed", but I don't know the details of that either. Anyway, uh...

[ Terry looks at the doorway and then back at the bed. ]

I don't think it can fit through the doorway, so if you want to sleep on this bed, you'll have to sleep in my room. It's a king size, so it can easily fit you and Rei.

Uh... You don't think that'd be weird? It's your friend's bed.

[ It sort of feels like they should be asking Jace what to do with the thing, but of course he isn't here. ]

You might as well use it. You'll need the king, with all these cats you have now.

[ He figures that in a week or a month's time, it would be no longer smell like Jace anyway. What's even the point. He can just look at the bed and be reminded of his extra self. That will probably be enough. ]

So we can sleep on the bed if you want. The cats will just go wherever, and from the look on Ami's face...

[ Ami is watching over the kittens. ]

... She'll probably keep all the kittens close to herself when it's time to sleep. And she doesn't seem to like sofas or beds anyway. [ The only reason why she's here with everyone is because babies. Motherly instinct is strong in this one. ]

Unlike the sleeper sofa, this will actually fit three people.

[ Because Rei is small. ]

[ On one hand, Kido will be able to sleep on a real bed. On the other hand... everything else. She's not even sure if Rei knows yet, and Terry doesn't seem to care at all about sharing a bed, but Kido's not sure if she'll be able to fall asleep in the same room as everybody else. ]

...Are you really okay with it?

[ It was such a waste to buy a four bedroom house if they're all going to squeeze into one bedroom and the cats could always have the living room to themselves. ]

... If it bothers you that much, you can always go and buy a bed for yourself, you know.

[ Kido... though he won't blame her if she went and did that anyway, because. Yeah. Those four bedrooms. lmao. The cats will roam around the house like they own it because at least one of them is pompous. ]

But if you do, I'm just saying you can sleep here until you get a new bed. If you're not, well, I don't mind if you keep sleeping on the bed either.

We're working on it. It's... not that big a deal, anyways, and it's sort of nice being with Rei at night. I know it makes her happy with us all here.

Yeah, because you're not sleeping alone, right? I heard that it's a sign of trust if you're willing to sleep next to that person.

[ Like... that should be obvious, but. Yeah. He was probably going somewhere with that, but the train of thought had flown off the rails, never to come back. ]

Anyway, you came to take me to the hospital, right?

[ Yeah, Kido's not going to think about the number of times she'd fallen asleep next to Terry already, because he's right, it's hospital time and it saves her from any flustered thoughts she might otherwise have had. ]

That's right. Have you had breakfast yet? We'll go as soon as you're ready.

Yeah, I ate.

[ Not much, but it's still something in his stomach. Terry gets most of the cat fur off with the grooming glove and gets off the bed. ]

I'm ready. Let's go. Do you want to hold onto the black kittens as we go? Since it looks like they like you a lot...

[ They'll be following Kido regardless. ]

All five at once?

[ She can fit maybe one in her hood, one in her jacket pocket, one or two in her arms... but still that's a lot and if one of them runs away, she won't be able to chase after them. ]

I probably won't be able to handle that many, so I'll take one and leave the rest to you.

[ The one that nudged its head against her hand; if it's friendly enough to do that, she thinks it wouldn't mind being carried. Not all cats like that, she knows. ]

[ Yup, the one that nudged its head doesn't mind being carried. In fact, it seems to be purring a lot in her hold. The rest of the black kittens hop off the bed and look eager to follow. ]

[ He will just follow instead so that the kittens don't get left behind for whatever reason. He'll stay quiet in case Kido is in cat heaven or something. ]

[ She's already named this kitten Hana-chan in her head, regardless of whatever Terry officially names his new cats. But however happy she is about all of this, she still manages to keep a neutral expression on when she gets up to leave the room. There's a note on the kitchen counter she'd left for Rei so she would know where they are, and that there's pudding in the fridge if she wants any when she wakes up, and she looks back to see just how many cats are coming along before she accidentally shuts the door on one of them. ]

Did they all come overnight too? Through your window, or something?

I woke up and the bed was there with five black kittens on it. I wonder if something happened overnight... I was too busy sleeping to notice.

[ The way the little kittens waddle are so cute... Terry looks ahead at Kido. ]

You wanna name them? They'd probably like it, coming from you.

[ Though, considering Terry's naming scheme for his other cats... maybe she should put some actual thoughts into these cats and save them from that fate ]

They might be strays, but as long as they're living under our roof, we have to be responsible for them. I'll think of good names for them... Maybe when I'm waiting during your session.
