um. wait never mind i forgot you dont know english well. theres a translating app in the phone, its white and blue. i assume you set the phone to japanese already. itll show some botched translations but it should be workable for the most part... it can override all everything in the phone to japanese

anyway after you do that go to "files" and can you send me the "blackbox.txt" file?

[ Now Kido has access to literally everything in his phone--somewhat. Most of it is google translate-level, but with that white and blue app that doesn't require internet, literally everything in his phone can be in Japanese. But while in that mode, you can't edit/delete files. Future technology sure is amazing. She can even drag and drop the EMERGENCY app and it'll convert everything, even the audio.

Terry only told her about the translator app out of convenience though, since he thought it would be easier to fetch the file that way. He doesn't seem to think ahead for these kinds of things........ ]

But okay, cool. The translating app is easy enough to use, "files" is easy enough to find, and instead of sending the text file she opens it up to read, because she's a hypocrite who tells Terry to stop pinpointing people but she can be nosy if she wants. ]

[ File get! It's a pretty easy password to him, but. Well. Kido can go snoop through hospital records to find out, but she probably won't find the accurate year on there due to how time shenanigans work. She could look through his wallet if she ever gets the chance, but it's a fake ID, so his birthday is also listed as an incorrect version too. She'll have to guess... ganba kido ]

[ I think if Kido thought back a little, she probably could have guessed pretty easily, but it requires a lot of memory digging and so much happens in Hirajiro all the time so I wouldn't blame her for not wanting to LOL ]

Your birthday was last week? You should have said something. I would've gotten you something.

As for the file, I'm just curious about why that one in particular important to you. It would be easier if just took your phone back, and everything important would be on it- all your photos and old texts and everything. Those are all important things too, that you should have.

Also, yeah, it would be easier, but Terry really doesn't want the phone back. And he doesn't need all that much from it anymore, and there's the sentimentality of old texts, photos, and videos, but now, more than ever, he doesn't want to see those either. It just makes him miss Jace even more and the peaceful life he had back then.

[ Once Kido unlocks the blackbox.txt file, it shows an incredibly in-depth physical profile of someone named "Terrence Nowell" and there's one thing that really stands out in the midst of all the complicated lingo on there: "Death point: left eye". ]

[ 2009 would mean that Terry was three when Kido died back home and that's just really weird to think about so she stows that information away. A year from now is also too long a time to think about, so she doesn't think she'll get the chance to celebrate a birthday with him, anyways.

Similarly, he's right in that none of this information is important or relevant to her in any way, info about who she can assume is his original because he wouldn't need a text document about himself. It's not like she's ever going to go up to his original and stab him in the eye, as much as she would like to for freaking Terry out so much the last time the guy was brought up and Terry was about to storm the forest looking for him.

right. i keep forgetting to tell you but when i was going around and stuff, there was no ocean... and i found out some weird stuff about the lake. im not the lake expert though but some things are bugging me about it...

You miss the ocean, huh? You talk about it a lot, the ocean and the beach. Is the lake that much different?

Huh. That was something he didn't expect to realize. Does he really like the ocean that much? Did he really talk about it that much?

well yeah?? the lake in town might as well be toxic. but lakes are usually formed with rivers connected to the ocean, arent they? and if theyre connected with rivers, then the rivers should be toxic too, but you can drink from them and even do laundry in them...

but isnt it weird? because theres no ocean for all the water to come from... i dont think springs are a thing here either

Do you think the water comes from the mountains? Or maybe it's an unnaturally dry summer, but there's usually a lot of rain?

i didnt see rivers in the mountains either... no waterfall too.

idk it just feels weird to me...... im not good at research though

You couldn't have combed through the entire mountain, though... There's a river between the castle and the town. Why don't you follow it upstream to see what the source is? There's no need to research something when you can figure out on your own.
